My kids scored this Halloween…I’m talking candy on top of candy on top of candy. They were jazzed.

But me?

I was not jazzed because I now work from home without any accountability partnered with no self-discipline. I knew I would sit home all day grazing on their candy if I didn’t find a better solution. But no worries, the internet provided one!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups leftover Halloween candy (roughly chopped)

Instructions

  • Beat the butter and sugars until smooth.
  • Add in vanilla and eggs and beat until well combined.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until well combined.
  • Next, toss in your candy and either mix on a low speed or by-hand.

Freezing?

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the sheet. You can place them close together, so no need to stress there.
  • Place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then remove and transfer over to a freezer-safe container or plastic bag.
  • Toss back in the freezer for up to 3 months!

Baking?

  • When you are ready to bake, remove a few of the frozen cookie dough balls and place them a few inches apart on your lined baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes (or until they start to brown/crisp around the edges).
  • Remove and let them cool…and then enjoy!

I made a couple batches of these, one to eat immediately and one to freeze. And they are legit. I will definitely make more of these to freeze because they were THAT easy and surprisingly tasty. The chocolate candy variety made each cookie different and so interesting! If you need to find something to do with all your extra chocolate candy but feel like a horrible mom to just toss it…try this out! 🙂
