I was chatting with a friend the other day about ordering a new case for my purse emergency kit and she responded “wow, 2020 really wrecked you.” I giggled but then I thought, do others not have an emergency kit in their purse at all times? I will admit…mine has grown substantially over the past year or so, but I’ve always had a little something for those “just in case” moments. I’m not sure if I’m looking for validation with this post or if I need someone to tell me I’m crazy, BUT here are the details on my purse emergency kit!

First, it’s huge. I’ve always carried a small overnight bag as my purse (only a slight exaggeration!). It’s just my preference! I ordered my super cute case from Amazon (here) but you could get away with any number of travel bags to do the trick!

Now, full disclosure, I have either used or needed every item in this kit…and yes, I have the stories to back this up 😉 So let’s dive in!

Lady Needs

For the obvious reason, I keep tampons and liners on hand at all times. But, because it’s super fun to have a period after having kids, I also keep an extra set of underwear and a small ziploc bag for extreme scenarios. IYKYK!

First Aid Needs

I’d like to say I keep the next few items on hand because I’m a mom. But, in reality, I’m more accident prone than most and almost always need a Band-Aid! So, in terms of “first aid”, I keep Band-Aids, sunscreen, bug spray, antibacterial wipes, tissues, Neosporin, anti-itch spray, hand sanitizer, a little Aquafor (because it can be used for everything!) plus a generic First Aid Kit.

Medicine Needs

These are probably the most used items of my kit for a variety of super fun reasons, but I digress! In terms of medicinal variety, I keep Tylenol, Advil (yes both), Allergy Medication, Children’s Allergy Medication, Tums, Pepto, Immodium, GasX, and cough drops.

Beauty Needs

I know I should probably do better here but I’m just not uber concerned about touch ups, etc. So, I only carry a little mirror, extra hair pins/ties, chapstick, hairspray, toothpaste, mints, hand cream, and a little concealer.

A few other random items I keep on hand are food utensils and the little lemonade on-the-go mixes. Because I’m extra. Additionally, we still have a mask mandate in certain places around the state so I carry an extra mask for both myself and my kiddos in the side pocket.

Even though it’s so large, it still fits snuggly in my purse and still allows room for my wallet, sunglasses, keys, etc.

See, still hangs nicely too!

So my question, dear readers, is what am I missing? Do you have other “go-to” items that you carry around constantly? I’d love to hear more! 🙂

Also, I’m very amendable to sharing. So if you see me in public and you’re in a pinch, just holler! 😉
